MINUTES OF AGM EASTER SUNDAY 4TH APRIL 2010 – 4pm

ATTENDANCE: 22 as per attendance list plus 7 apologies
PRESIDENTS REPORT – THE PRESIDENT
The president told the meeting that this agm‘s priority business was to decide where we go to from here in view of the fact that the DSE and the WFCM appear to be unaccountable to nobody but themselves, and will continue to ignore community opinions on many important matters while they pursue their own agenda.
The president recommended our association modify our website to include an interactive blogsite with the view that whatever happens at walkerville in the future….be it good or bad ,will be transparently illustrated in a very public electronic forum.we will continue to make representations to those authorities who determine what happens or doesn’t happen at walkerville regardless of whether they continue to ignore our opinions or not.
BUSINESS
- Motion:::: ‘that the association modify its website to include an interactive blogsite
Moved: Joe Pincini
Seconded: Sarina
Carried unanimously
- Parking at “south”…………….there is apparently talk of banning parking at the beach at “south “ in summer busy periods and making people park at the top .We will write to the wfcm to seek clarification
- Bill Bray informed the ratepayers AGM that he gets complaints about dog access to the beach from both sides of the argument and the subject is a difficult one to deal with.
- Caravan park issues………….joe pincini suggested we write the fcm requesting for the need for a caravan effluent “dump”…..some people apparently are doing what they need to do under the cover of darkness.
- Colin said the drainage systems in the park are ineffective in low lying areas and need upgrading. He also said there are plumbing issues in the toilet block near the kiosk….the other blocks are ok.
- another issue raised by Marion Wilson concerning water quality in the park……..apparently the water quality has been tested recently and is ok to drink but not many people seem to know….we will write to the fcm suggesting they put notices around the park about the testing results and the quality of the water.
- fish cleaning facilities were discussed once again and should be included in the new management plan.
- the lack of roadside clearing for pedestrians on the tarwin road was discussed and a letter will be written to the shire.
- Ian kerboeuff discussed dse 10 year backburn for the liptrap park program which is on display at the foster office.
- the association was requested to ask the fcm for a list of their scheduled meeting dates to allow people to attend the pre meeting briefings.
